Martha’s Vineyard offers an assortment of beach adventures. From protected, shallow, beaches on the eastern and northern shores where we are situated, to the surf along the southern coast, you won’t tire of the changing seascape for which we are renowned.
Guests at Menemsha Inn & Cottages receive exclusive, walk on and bike on passes to two private beaches: Lucy Vincent Beach and Squibnocket Beach. These two beaches, along with Memensha Public Beach, comprise the three beaches of the town of Chilmark.
Lucy Vincent Beach*
Accessible by pass only, this privately-owned beach is known for its stunning clay bluffs, easy walking, and magnificent views over the Atlantic Ocean. Generally less crowded due to restricted public access, Lucy Vincent Beach is a perfect beach to relax and enjoy the clear water, take in some surfing, or even try some nude sunbathing on the clothing-optional stretch. Walk on passes provided to guests with an option to purchase their own Lucy Vincent Pass.
Squibnocket Beach is another privately-owned beach in Chilmark located off State Road on Spruce Gate Road. Well-known as a surfing beach, Squibnocket offers breathtaking vistas. Enjoy a refreshing walk or a picnic lunch framed by the cliffs overlooking the beach.
*Guests will receive their passes at the reception.
