We've been coming to Menemsha Inn and Cottages for years, and we absolutely love it. Wonderful setting, lovely cottages, and the amazing up-island, Menemsha vibe. And, Virginia is the best
The Menemsha Inn and Cottages was the perfect getaway in the remote and rustic fishing village of the Menemsha on Martha's Vineyard. We stayed in the Periwinkle Cottage. It was a small but very comfortable three room cottage. I felt like I was in a version of tiny house. The cottage had everything we needed a kitchen, bedroom and private bath. The rooms were a nice tan color sparsely appointed but tastefully done. The tiny house even came with its own screened in front porch. The best part of staying at the Inn is what's outside the door. We walked to the beach plum, a sister property just a few minutes away and had breakfast on a gorgeous patio overlooking the village. From there we took a trail through a small forest and marsh to the village where you can pick up the best hot lobster rolls from one of the local shops and watch the fishing boats come and go. Late in the afternoon, it's the perfect spot to watch the sunset.
We had the most amazing visit this past May at the Menemsha Inn and Cottages! When making the arrangements I had the pleasure of talking with Katya and Virginia! They couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Virginia went above and beyond during our stay by providing us with information about the area and she had our belongings moved for us to our room while we were out enjoying a walk. The room was spectacular... cozy yet spacious - beautiful view, sitting area with chairs and a sofa as well as a frig that was quite spacious. The King bed was one of the most comfortable we have encountered in an Inn. The bathroom was clean and well stocked - nice fluffy white towels, linens were all white and fresh. Every day the room was cleaned and freshened and the housekeeper, SueEllen did a wonderful job!! The property was breathtaking... to be able to see the ocean from our room and enjoy the amazing sunsets was a special treat. We could even see the Gay Head lighthouse from our deck. We enjoyed taking the walk down to the beach and exploring the lovely Menemsha fishing village. It was an incredible mini getaway... and the Inn made it all perfect!
We stayed at the Menemsha Inn in July 2016. It was a wonderful, welcoming experience, near all the things we wanted to do up-island. The Inn has tennis courts and a gym, but it was the grounds and seclusion that made it extra special. Highly recommended
Visiting friends up island who recommended this lovely inn. From the moment we arrived until the time we checked out, my husband and I were immersed in the special vibe that is Menemsha. At check in, we were greeted by the gracious and friendly Virginia who was eager to acclimate us to our surroundings and start us on our much anticipated get away. We stayed in the Carriage House Suite #5, a lovely bright, white room with blue accented furniture and upholstery. Not fancy. Very clean, comfortable, quiet. And then there was the deck. So private. Should be called the second room. Morning paper, reflection, coffee, post nap stretch, pre sunset wine and cheese. All the while looking over the gorgeous grounds and Menemsha Harbor. Just absolute peace. Breakfast was just a short woodsy trail walk away at the sister Beach Plum Inn. Then an easy hike to the beach or walk to the quaint village for fresh fish, shopping and dining. I'm too used to too much when it comes to accommodations. Menemsha Inn caught me by lovely surprise. Cannot wait to come back.
